Privacy Policy – GlobalConverter

This Privacy Policy applies to the GlobalConverter app ("Application") for mobile devices, created by EB Nordic ("Service Provider", "we", "us"), based in Sweden. The Application is provided as an ad-supported, free-to-use service.

1. Data We Collect

The Application itself does not collect any personally identifiable information you enter. The following data is collected automatically by third-party SDKs integrated into the Application:

• Device advertising identifier (e.g. Google Advertising ID)
• IP address (used to derive approximate country/region — not GPS location)
• Operating system version and device model
• App usage events (e.g. which currencies were viewed, screens visited, time spent)
• Ad interaction data (e.g. whether an ad was displayed or tapped)

2. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Brazil, we process data on the following legal bases:

• Consent — for personalised advertising via Google AdMob. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 6).
• Legitimate interest — for aggregated, anonymised analytics (Firebase Analytics) to understand how the Application is used and improve it.

3. Third-Party Services

The Application uses the following third-party services that process data independently under their own privacy policies:

• Google AdMob — advertising
• Google Firebase Analytics — usage analytics

These services are operated by Google LLC, headquartered in the United States. Data may be transferred to and stored on servers in the United States. Google participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, providing an adequate level of protection for EEA data transfers.

4. Data Retention

The Service Provider does not directly store personal data. Data retained by third-party services (Google) is subject to their own retention policies, typically 14 months for Firebase Analytics data. If you request deletion of your data, we will relay the request to the relevant service providers. Contact us at supportandroidapp@globalconverter.com.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of data held about you
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Portability — receive your data in a portable format
• Restriction — request that we limit processing of your data
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Withdraw consent — withdraw consent for personalised ads at any time (see Section 6)

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Sweden: Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY). In other EEA countries, contact your national supervisory authority.

6. Opt-Out and Consent Withdrawal

You can limit or stop data collection in the following ways:

• Personalised ads: Reset or opt out of your device's advertising ID via your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).
• Analytics: Contact us to request that your data be excluded from analytics processing.
• All collection: Uninstall the Application.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have the right to:

• Know what categories of personal information are collected (see Section 1)
• Request deletion of personal information
• Not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights

8. India — Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP 2024)

For users in India, the following applies under the DPDP Act 2024:

• Right to access — request a summary of personal data processed about you
• Right to correction and erasure — request correction or deletion of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Right to grievance redressal — raise a complaint and receive a response within a reasonable time
• Right to nominate — nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity

9. Children

The Application is not directed to minors. Age limits by region:

• India (DPDP Act): under 18 — we do not knowingly collect data from users under 18 without verifiable parental consent.
• All other regions: under 13 — we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us immediately at supportandroidapp@globalconverter.com and we will delete it promptly.

10. Security

We rely on Google's enterprise-grade infrastructure (Firebase, AdMob) which implements physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page. We recommend reviewing this page periodically. Continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
